According to ancient yogic wisdom, when we learn to access our inner resource, we are able to experience pure consciousness where our potential is limitless, our creativity bountiful, our joy abundant. In this state of expanded consciousness, there is a shift happens. We shift from an "Object-Referral State" where our happiness depends on materials, objects, people around us and our social conditioning to a "Self-Referral State" where we become independent of objects around us to attain true joy and fulfillment in life. In this self-referral state, we respond to situations rather than react, we make decisions aligned with our true calling, we unlock the infinite possibilities that reside within us. In the "Infinite Possibilities Retreat," we will learn to use different tools to help access this Self-Referral state through mantra-based meditation, chakra balancing yoga practices, breath work, full immersion in nature which will help reset our circadian rhythm so it is synched with the paradise we will be living in.

Chakras are energy centers in our body, located in the central center of the spine.
Chakras are regarded as meeting points, or interfaces between mind and body.
Every bodily sensation is a part of a conversation between the brain and some part of the physiology.
At a subtle level, according to the chakra system that dates back to 1500 B.C., these centers aren’t purely physical corresponding to bundles of nerves, major organs, but also affect our emotional and mental well-being extending to meaningful parts of our lives. When our chakras are in balance, open and aligned, we experience a “lightness of being”, feel grounded, alert, energetic, in balance and deeply connected to our intuition and innate wisdom, our Higher Self. This state of being not enables us to experience joy in life but also helps boosts our immunity system as proven by scientific research.
Infinite Possibilities retreat in 2023 will focus on a specific energetic center/area in the body each day during vinyasa and yin/restorative practices. We will incorporate 7 chakra centers - root, sacral, solar, heart, throat, third eye and crown chakra - to learn how to balance, cleanse and align your chakras, developing a deep understanding about how to tap into the inner pharmacy of our body to obtain optimum wellness in physical and subtle body layers.
For experienced yogis, this knowledge will enable them to go deeper into their practice with a more profound understanding on how access the subtle layers of the body in their asana practice. Students new to yoga will have the rare opportunity to learn how to practice with deep awareness of their energetic centers in the body, getting an in-depth understanding of each pose that goes beyond the superficial layers.
There will be a free beginner's yoga workshop at the beginning of the retreat for those students who are new to the practice.
Located at the base of the spine, root chakra blockages may result in issues with our lower back, hips, legs, knees, ankles, feet. Other manifestations are difficult with sleeping, feeling anxious and ungrounded, weight gain/loss, weakened immunity and fatigue. Our first day will be devoted to balancing and cleansing of the root chakra. While our vinyasa and yin/restorative practices will be well-rounded, our root chakra theme will be prevalent in the practices. Expect grounding breathwork, meditation and asana (physical) practice focusing on our hamstrings, knees, and pelvic area . Perfect way to start our retreat after traveling!
More more on root chakra read here
Located below the belly, sacral chakra is associated with creativity in all its expressions. When blocked – perhaps by emotional trauma or chronic stress - we are unable to connect with our passions, we may want to control everything, and our life may lack zest. Physically, body may manifest these shackled emotions as unexplained lower back pain, tight hips, and reproductive challenges. On day two, expect deep hip work and continued focus on the pelvic area. Meditation will focus on releasing the blockages to access our inner creativity and our ability to flow with the river of life. More on sacral chakra read here.
Located around our belly button, Solar chakra is involved in self-esteem, warrior energy, and the power of transformation. When out of balance, we may display aggression, be over domineering towards others or we may feel unmotivated to achieve things or feel like a victim. On a physical level, blood sugar issues such as diabetes, digestive problems such as IBS, ulcers, as well as eating disorders, fatigue, excessive weight especially around the stomach may manifest themselves. On day 3, expect deep twists, core work and as well as deep stretches of the abdominal muscles including the obliques to open our solar energy. More on solar chakra, read here
Heart chakra rests in the center of the chakra system, at the core of our spirit. Its physical location is the heart, upper chest, and upper back. It is the balance point, integrating the world of matter (the lower three chakras) with the world of spirit (the upper three chakras).
Through the heart chakra, we open to and connect with harmony and peace. The health of our heart center registers the quality and power of love in our life. Its name implies that deep beneath our personal stories of brokenness and the pain in our heart, wholeness, boundless love, and a wellspring of compassion reside. On our fourth day, expect a focus on not only heart openers but also inward turning poses so as we open our hearts, we know to check in and connect with ourselves while giving unconditional love to our Deep Self. More on heart chakra here.
Located in the neck, throat, jaw, and mouth, the throat chakra resonates with our inner truth and helps us find a personal way to convey our voice to the outside world. The rhythm of music, creativity of dance, the vibration of singing, and the communication we make through writing and speaking are all fifth chakra ways to express ourselves. When the throat chakra is open and flowing, we have confidence that we are communicating our needs and expressing our truth without concern for censors or critics.
When throat chakra is obstructed, we will feel we are not being heard and we feel inhibited about expressing our own truth. On our fifth day a the retreat, we will continue our heart opening practice with an emphasis on the throat chakra and learn how to elongate, strengthen and stimulate our neck and throat in all the standing yoga poses while working on our subtle body layers to find our own unique voice. More on throat chakra here.
The sixth chakra is located between and just above the physical eyes, creating the spiritual third eye. While our eyes see the material world, third eye chakra helps us look into deeper realms: intuition, imagination, creativity and visualization. When it is open, we are connected to our spirituality, can access our intuition when making decisions. Our inner wisdom guides us in life which allows us to live in harmony and on the path towards our true calling. When this chakra is out of balance, we experience headaches, hallucinations, nightmares, and difficulty concentrating, have a poor memory, eye problems, memory issues, and can’t visualize well. In a deficient third eye chakra state, we derive joy from material things around us rather than connecting with the boundless inner resource which resides within us. Our sixth day will focus on going inwards in our yoga practice with poses, breathwork and meditation that stimulate our third eye. More on third eye chakra here.
The seventh chakra is located at the crown of the head and serves as the crown of the chakra system, symbolizing the highest state of enlightenment and facilitating our spiritual development.
This chakra is associated with the highest functions of the brain that transcends the thinking mind.
The Sanskrit word for Sahasrara means "thousand" or "infinite". The awakening of the crown chakra means a universal flow of energy and the ability to have a fully awakened consciousness that allow us to access higher states of being that go and beyond the physical realm. The seed mantra for Sahashara Chakra is AUM and is considered to enhance brain functions such as memory, intelligence and sharp focus.
According to yogic philosophy, it is between the thought patterns where we find the timeless deep awakening, and full consciousness that embody "infinite possibilities". Opening the crown chakra allows us to access this state of being.
Focused on transcendence, many people seeking higher consciousness have disregarded the importance of the lower chakras. Yet we all need strong and solid support of our base chakras in order to open to the spiritual in a healthy and integrated way. The lower chakras focus on details such as our home, family, and feelings, while the upper chakras develop synthesizing views and wisdom that help us understand the grander order of things. All of our chakras affect one another and ultimately work together. As we learn to use this ancient Vedic system to understand our lives, we can gain insight into personal issues that require our attention—and we can use use different tools to bring our chakras and life in harmony.
Primordial sound meditation practice along with guided meditations throughout the retreat will help align your chakras and foster a connection with our deep self where our infinite resource resides. Here, we meet infinite possibilities where joy is in abundance, our creativity boundless, our awakening profound. We learn to live each moment in life with a deeper awakening and an open heart.

WHAT IS MEDIATION ?
Meditation is a tool for discovering the body's own inner intelligence. Practiced for thousands of years, it is not about forcing the mind to be quiet. It's about the silence that is already there and making it a part of your life.
Silence is the birthplace of happiness, creativity and infinite possibilities. From this field of pure potentiality we get our bursts of inspiration, our most intuitive thoughts and our deepest sense of connection to the Universe. Practicing meditation on a daily basis allows us to weave silence and stillness into our mind and body to create a life of greater compassion and fulfillment. Mediation is a journey to the center of our very being, a journey to emotional freedom, and a journey to the reawakening of our unconditioned self.
WHAT IS PRIMORDIAL SOUND MEDIATION?
Primordial Sound Meditation is a meditation technique originating in the ancient wisdom of India. Primordial Sounds—the basic, most essential sounds of nature—are used to disconnect us from the activity of life. These individually selected sounds, known as mantras, are based on the vibration the universe was making at the moment of your birth.
Once your Primordial Sound mantra has been determined, you will be taught how to use it on a daily basis to reawaken balance, tranquility and compassion within. Your Chopra Center Certified Instructor will help you to integrate this practice into your daily routine. Participants in the retreat will receive their personalized mantra through the Chopra Center.
HOW WILL PRIMORDIAL SOUND MEDIATION BENEFIT MY HEALTH?
Medical science points to stress as a major contributing factor to most illnesses. Even though meditation should not be considered a cure by itself, research has shown it to be beneficial for a wide range of health problems. As stress is greatly eliminated through Primordial Sound Meditation, our minds and bodies begin to function with maximum effectiveness, creating health, vitality and happiness.
Practicing Primordial Sound Meditation on a daily basis can help you to:
How do I learn Primordial Sound Meditation?Primordial Sound Meditation is easily learned in four short sessions over a period of a few days.
In Session One, your Chopra Center Certified Meditation Instructor and retreat leader Huma Gruaz will introduce you to the basic principles of meditation; it’s history and the importance of your mantra.
In Session Two, you will receive personal instruction in your Primordial Sound mantra and learn how to use it. You will try meditation for the first time using your Primordial Sound mantra. Your instructor will give you specific tools to prepare you for the experiences you will have during the mediation sessions and how to optimize your experience.
In Session Three, you will learn the practical aspects of meditation, share your experience, receive answers to any questions, and meditate with your instructor. You will go deeper into the mechanics of mediation, learn about concepts such as "software of the soul" and "layers of life"
In Session Four, you will attend a lecture about the higher states of consciousness that can be achieved with regular Primordial Sound Meditation practice. Your instructor will share Deepak Chopra’s vision of these higher states.
In Session 5, we will further our practice, deepen our experience and discussions regarding our meditation journey. We will also meditate as a group. Ancient yogic wisdom teaches us that when we meditate in a group, we create an energy field where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. What we experience when we meditate - expanded awareness, deep relaxation, stress release, connecting with our deeper self intensifies and those effects expand into the environment when a group meditation takes place.
