This ancient city, evolving from a 10th-century BC Ionian Greek settlement to a major Roman metropolis, thrived due to its strategic Aegean coast location. Ephesus is crucial in Christian tradition, housing the Temple of Artemis—one of the Ancient World's Seven Wonders—and the purported final residence of the Virgin Mary.
Our second trip will be to the ancient wonders of Didyma, Priene, and Miletus on a tour that unveils the rich cultural heritage and history of these archaeological sites. From the grand Temple of Apollo and the preserved ancient city of Priene to Miletus's impressive ruins, this journey offers a deep connection to the past and insight into the civilizations that shaped this region.
The retreat's optional extension takes you to the stunning Bodrum peninsula for 2 nights and 3 days, staying at a beautiful hotel with views of Bodrum Castle, erected by the Knights of St. John in 1407. Bodrum, founded by Dorian Greeks and home to the Mausoleum—one of the Ancient World's Seven Wonders—boasts turquoise waters, excellent seafood, and vibrant nightlife, making it a top European tourist destination, often likened to the French Riviera.
Our visit includes a day trip to the historic Greek Island of Kos, established in 366 BC and a key maritime hub in the Aegean. Kos is famed for housing the world's oldest hospital ruins and the Tree of Hippocrates, where the "father of medicine" is said to have taught. The Asklepeion on Kos is celebrated as the cradle of Western medicine. During this extension, daily yoga and meditation sessions will be offered.
The expertise of the yoga teacher leading the retreat is a vital component that can deeply enrich your experience, fostering significant shift in your body, mind, and soul.

WHAT IS MEDIATION ?
Meditation is a tool for discovering the body's own inner intelligence. Practiced for thousands of years, it is not about forcing the mind to be quiet. It's about the silence that is already there and making it a part of your life.
Silence is the birthplace of happiness, creativity and infinite possibilities. From this field of pure potentiality we get our bursts of inspiration, our most intuitive thoughts and our deepest sense of connection to the Universe. Practicing meditation on a daily basis allows us to weave silence and stillness into our mind and body to create a life of greater compassion and fulfillment. Mediation is a journey to the center of our very being, a journey to emotional freedom, and a journey to the reawakening of our unconditioned self.
WHAT IS PRIMORDIAL SOUND MEDIATION?
Primordial Sound Meditation is a meditation technique originating in the ancient wisdom of India. Primordial Sounds—the basic, most essential sounds of nature—are used to disconnect us from the activity of life. These individually selected sounds, known as mantras, are based on the vibration the universe was making at the moment of your birth.
Once your Primordial Sound mantra has been determined, you will be taught how to use it on a daily basis to reawaken balance, tranquility and compassion within. Your Chopra Center Certified Instructor will help you to integrate this practice into your daily routine. Participants in the retreat will receive their personalized mantra through the Chopra Center.
HOW WILL PRIMORDIAL SOUND MEDIATION BENEFIT MY HEALTH?
Medical science points to stress as a major contributing factor to most illnesses. Even though meditation should not be considered a cure by itself, research has shown it to be beneficial for a wide range of health problems. As stress is greatly eliminated through Primordial Sound Meditation, our minds and bodies begin to function with maximum effectiveness, creating health, vitality and happiness.
Practicing Primordial Sound Meditation on a daily basis can help you to:
How do I learn Primordial Sound Meditation?Primordial Sound Meditation is easily learned in four short sessions over a period of a few days.
In Session One, your Chopra Center Certified Meditation Instructor and retreat leader Huma Gruaz will introduce you to the basic principles of meditation; it’s history and the importance of your mantra.
In Session Two, you will receive personal instruction in your Primordial Sound mantra and learn how to use it. You will try meditation for the first time using your Primordial Sound mantra. Your instructor will give you specific tools to prepare you for the experiences you will have during the mediation sessions and how to optimize your experience.
In Session Three, you will learn the practical aspects of meditation, share your experience, receive answers to any questions, and meditate with your instructor. You will go deeper into the mechanics of mediation, learn about concepts such as "software of the soul" and "layers of life"
In Session Four, you will attend a lecture about the higher states of consciousness that can be achieved with regular Primordial Sound Meditation practice. Your instructor will share Deepak Chopra’s vision of these higher states.
In Session 5, we will further our practice, deepen our experience and discussions regarding our meditation journey. We will also meditate as a group. Ancient yogic wisdom teaches us that when we meditate in a group, we create an energy field where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. What we experience when we meditate - expanded awareness, deep relaxation, stress release, connecting with our deeper self intensifies and those effects expand into the environment when a group meditation takes place.
